The Crowne Plaza is an officially rated five-star hotel on Samsenthai Road. Guests give it 9.2 out of 10 from 507 reviews, the second-highest score band in our Vientiane sample.
It suits travellers who want a pool, a gym, a spa and a big breakfast, and business visitors who value consistent service. Free parking is listed too.
Budget travellers should skip it. Guests say room rates and extras, such as taxis arranged through the hotel, feel expensive for the city.
Location and getting around
Guests rate the location 8.9 out of 10. The Lao National Museum is about 1.2 km away, roughly 15 minutes on foot. Patuxai is about 2.3 km away, around 29 minutes on foot, which is a long walk in the heat.
Pha That Luang is about 4 km away, roughly 50 minutes on foot. That is far, so plan on a taxi or public transport. All times are straight-line estimates. Note that guests find hotel taxis pricey, so compare options.
What guests say
Breakfast gets the most praise. Guests describe an extensive buffet with Western and Asian dishes, served in a spacious dining area. Staff are described as friendly and professional, with helpful and attentive service throughout.
The recurring complaint is value for money. Facilities are modern, but room rates and extras like taxis are seen as expensive. Room size and noise have not been assessed in our data.
