d'primahotel Kualanamu Airport Medan

d'primahotel Kualanamu Airport Medan is worth booking if you need a cheap, well-equipped room out at Kualanamu rather than in the city. If you want to explore Medan itself, the 16 km distance to the main sights makes our other two picks a better base.

Who it suits and who should skip it

This is our Budget pick for Medan, and it is a specific kind of hotel. It suits travellers with an early flight, a late arrival or a short stopover who want a 4-star room at a low price. Families may also like it, since family rooms, a pool and free parking are listed.

Skip it if your plan is to see the city. Every sight in our data is more than 16 km away, so each outing means a taxi or public transport. For a sightseeing stay, the Best Value and Luxury picks make more sense.

Location and getting around

The address is Jl. Arteri Kualanamu, Tumpatan Nibung, Batang Kuis, Deli Serdang. The hotel name links it to Kualanamu Airport, but the exact distance to the terminal is not confirmed in our data. Check it on a map before you rely on walking or a short transfer.

Central Medan is far. The Grand Mosque of Medan is about 16.3 km away, Maimun Palace about 16.6 km and Gang Bengkok Old Mosque about 17.1 km. On foot these would take well over three hours, so plan on a taxi or public transport for every trip into town.

Guests still give the location 8.9 out of 10, which suggests it does its job for people who chose it for the airport area.

What guests say

The score is 8.2 out of 10 from 1,458 reviews, a large sample. On guest score it placed joint 8th of the 10 hotels we compared, so it is solid rather than outstanding.

Our data does not include a summary of specific likes or dislikes for this hotel. Read a selection of recent reviews to see what guests say about rooms, noise and service before you book.

Price and how it compares with our other picks

The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults, was €26.64 per night. That was about 45% below the €48.78 median of the hotels we compared. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.

The property lists a gym, a pool, a restaurant, a terrace, free parking, family rooms, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Breakfast options listed are continental, Asian and buffet. Opening times and fees for these should be confirmed.

Our Best Value pick, Four Points by Sheraton Medan, is also 4 stars, scores 8.8 and came in at €52.08 per night. Our Luxury pick, JW Marriott Hotel Medan, is 5 stars with an 8.9 score at €88.69 per night. Both cost more, but both put you much closer to the city.

Why it made our top 3

We compared 10 eligible hotels in Medan. This one had the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale choice was set aside, and it backs that with 4 stars, a wide list of facilities and more than 1,400 reviews.

It earns the Budget slot on price and facilities, not on location for sightseeing.

Before you book

Confirm how far the hotel is from the airport terminal and whether any transfer is offered, since neither is confirmed in our data.

Breakfast inclusion, room size, noise, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Check the rate details and cancellation policy.

If you plan to visit central Medan, price out taxi trips in both directions. That cost can close the gap with our other two picks.
