Das.Goldberg
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Das.Goldberg is worth booking if you want the top-rated 5-star stay in Bad Hofgastein, with a spa, a pool and a mountain setting guests describe as ski-in ski-out, and the budget to match. At more than double the local median price, it is hard to justify if you mainly need a good bed near the valley.

This is for travellers who want the full package: the property lists a spa, a pool, a gym, a restaurant, a garden, a terrace, family rooms, free parking, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Couples on a special trip and families who can pay for comfort are the obvious match.
Skiers should take note of what guests report: a ski-in ski-out position in a mountain landscape above the valley. Check that the slopes are open for your dates before you count on it.
Who should skip it? Anyone watching costs. Our Best Value pick in town scores 9.0 for less than half the price. Food lovers should also know that dinner gets mixed comments.
Location and getting around
The address is Haltestellenweg 23, in an area the listing calls the top-rated area in Bad Hofgastein. Guests rate the location 9.7 out of 10, the highest figure on this page.
Our data does not include walking distances to sights, so we cannot confirm how far the town centre or other places are. Reviewers describe the hotel as set above the valley, so ask the hotel how you get down to town and whether you will need a car or taxi.
A beach appears in the provider's facility list, but that does not confirm any beach location or distance. Do not plan around it.
What guests say
The score is 9.4 out of 10 from 212 reviews. That is excellent, though the sample is smaller than at bigger city hotels.
Staff get the warmest praise: friendly, attentive and welcoming, and ready to help. The location is the other highlight, with guests pointing to the ski-in ski-out access and the mountain views above the valley.
Dinner is the weak spot. Guests like the fresh ingredients and tasty options, but some found certain main courses disappointing. Breakfast is a buffet with vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Price and how it compares with our other Bad Hofgastein picks
Our reference price was €584.83 per night, about €1,170 for two nights. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 Nov) for 2 adults in one room, not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates, as mountain resorts price by season.
The sample median was €269.02 per night, so Das.Goldberg costs more than twice the typical rate.
Our Best Value pick, Das Alpenhaus Gasteinertal, has 4 stars and a 9.0 at €269.02 per night. Our Budget pick, Hotel PALACE, has 4 stars and an 8.1 at €202.68 per night. You pay over €300 a night more here than at the Alpenhaus for 5 stars, a 9.4 score and the slope-side position guests describe.
