This four-star hotel suits families, drivers and travellers who want a pool, gym and on-site restaurant. Family rooms and free parking are listed, pets are tagged as allowed, and a spa tag appears in our data. The guest score is 8.5 out of 10 from 543 reviews.
Skip it if you mainly want the best-reviewed bed in town. Hampton Inn & Suites Chico, Ca scored 9.1 and cost only a little more per night. Some guests here also find nightly rates and snack prices on the high side.
Location and getting around
The address is 685 Manzanita Court, and the location score is 8.8 out of 10.
Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park is the one sight in our data, about 2.2 km away, or roughly 28 minutes on foot. That is walkable for most people, though it is a fair stretch. The figure is a straight-line estimate, so the real route may be longer.
For other places around Chico, our data does not give distances. Free parking is listed, so driving is the simplest option. Confirm parking terms for your dates.
What guests say
Staff get consistent praise as friendly, helpful and professional, with a warm welcome. Cleanliness also scores well: guests describe rooms that are kept neat, tidy and well maintained.
The criticism is about value. Most find the rates reasonable for what is offered, but some think the nightly cost and snack prices are high. It is a mild complaint, not a warning sign.
Price compared with our other Chico picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults was €88.86 a night, about €178 for both nights. It is not a live quote. Check today's price for your dates.
All three of our Chico picks sit in a tight band. Quality Inn Near Chico State, our Budget pick, scored 8.3 at €81.80. Hampton Inn & Suites Chico, Ca, our Best Value pick, scored 9.1 at €92.72. This Doubletree sits between them on price, about €7 above the budget option and about €4 below the Hampton.
For that money you get a pool, gym, restaurant, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, family rooms, free parking and a buffet breakfast. Whether breakfast is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 6 eligible properties in Chico. Our method prefers five-star hotels for the luxury slot and accepts a four-star only if it scores at least 8.5. This Doubletree meets that bar exactly.
It wins the slot on category and facilities. It is not the top-rated hotel in the sample, and we would not call it luxury in a big-city sense, but it is the most complete hotel among our picks here.
Before you book
