This is a four-star hotel on Airport Road. For a budget pick, the facility list is long: gym, spa, pool, restaurant, free parking, family rooms, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. That makes it a sensible choice for families, drivers and travellers who want a pool without paying resort prices.
Skip it if you plan to explore on foot or want a beach or resort atmosphere. The main landmarks are far away, and some guests feel the price is high for the condition of the hotel.
Location and getting around
Guests rate the location 8.8 out of 10 and say it is central, close to the bus station, malls and supermarkets. That is useful for daily errands and meals.
The landmarks are another story. By straight-line estimates, Capital Gate is about 8 km away and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque about 11.7 km. Both are far, well over an hour and a half on foot, so you will need a taxi or public transport. Free parking is listed, which helps if you rent a car.
What guests say
The 8.3 score is based on 4,240 reviews, the largest sample among our three Abu Dhabi picks. Staff get consistent praise for being friendly, polite and cooperative, with a warm welcome. The central position near shops and the bus station is the other common plus.
On value, opinions differ. Many think the rate is reasonable for the area. Others feel it is high for the condition of the property. Renovation condition has not been assessed, so read recent reviews before booking.

Why it made our top 3
We compared 15 eligible hotels in Abu Dhabi. Grand Villaggio ranked joint 13th on guest score, so it did not win on reviews. It won the Budget slot because it had the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale choice was set aside, while still offering four stars, a pool, a spa and over 4,000 reviews at 8.3.
