This is our Best Value pick in Seoul. It scores 9.1 out of 10 from 2,033 guest reviews, which placed it third by review score among the 19 eligible hotels we compared.
It suits first-time visitors who want to see the palaces on foot, couples and families (family rooms are listed), and anyone who wants a solid breakfast without paying luxury prices.
Skip it if you want a full-service hotel with a long list of facilities. The property lists free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a garden and family rooms, and not much beyond that. Some guests also feel the dormitory prices are high given the shared facilities.
Location and getting around
The address is 19, Yulgok-ro 6-gil, Jongno-gu. Guests give the location 9.6, and it is the main reason people book.
Distances here are straight-line estimates. Changdeokgung is about 0.4 km away, around 5 minutes on foot. Gyeongbokgung is about 1.2 km, around 15 minutes. Namdaemun is about 2.2 km, around 28 minutes, which is still walkable if you do not mind a longer stroll.
Guests also mention that Hanok villages, metro stations and the airport bus stop are within walking distance. Check the exact stop for your airport bus before you travel.
What guests say
Location comes up most often. Reviewers like being able to walk to the palaces, the Hanok villages, metro stations and the airport bus stop.
Breakfast gets good marks too. Guests describe a fresh buffet with Korean and Western dishes, such as fried rice, salad and eggs. Breakfast styles listed are continental, vegetarian and buffet.
The main criticism concerns value in one room type. Rates are seen as affordable for the area, but some guests think the dormitory prices are high for shared facilities.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
We saw €91.59 per night. That is a reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not a live quote. Check today's price for your dates.
The sample median was €178.78, so this hotel was 49% below it. Our Budget pick, Boutique Hotel Loft, was €75.49 with a score of 8.7. Our Luxury pick, Signiel Seoul, was €558.68 with a score of 9.3.
For about €16 more per night than the Budget pick, you get a higher score and a location close to the palaces. Signiel Seoul scores slightly higher, but costs about six times as much.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 19 eligible hotels in Seoul. Our Best Value slot weighs guest score, number of reviews and reference price together, rather than picking the cheapest.
A 9.1 score from over 2,000 reviews, a 9.6 location rating and a price at half the median made this the clearest balance in the sample.
