Haus Hainstein
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Worth booking if you want a quiet hillside base near the forest, within walking distance of Wartburg and the Bach House, with free parking. Compare prices first, though, because on our reference dates it was the most expensive of our three Eisenach picks.

Haus Hainstein is our Best Value pick for Eisenach. It suits walkers, couples and families who want calm surroundings near the forest and easy access to Wartburg Castle. Family rooms, a garden and a terrace are listed, and pets appear in the property tags, though the pet policy and fees need checking.
Drivers will appreciate the free parking listed by the property.
If you want a hotel in the town centre streets, or the lowest price, look at our other picks. Guests also find the restaurant prices high, so budget for eating out or for that cost.
Location and getting around
The address is Am Hainstein 16, in the area the provider labels the top-rated area in Eisenach. Guests describe a quiet hillside setting near the forest, with a short walk to Wartburg Castle. The location score is 9.4.
The Bach House is about 0.5 km away, roughly 6 minutes on foot. Wartburg is about 0.8 km, around 10 minutes.
These are straight-line estimates and have not been verified. On a hillside, real paths can be longer and steeper than the distance suggests, so check the route if mobility is a concern.
What guests say
The score is 8.5 out of 10 from 2,574 reviews, joint first among the 4 eligible properties in the sample.
Guests like the quiet hillside location near the forest and the short walk to Wartburg. The breakfast also gets praise: a varied buffet with regional items and fresh egg dishes, served in a room guests describe as scenic.
On value, guests find the room rates reasonable but sometimes see the dining prices as high.
Price and how it compares with our other Eisenach picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 November, 2 adults, one room) was €135 per night, above the sample median of €124.55. These are reference prices, not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, pentahotel Eisenach, was €122.10 a night with a score of 8.4 and 4 stars. Our Luxury pick, Vienna House by Wyndham Thüringer Hof Eisenach, was €85.20 a night with a score of 8.5 and 4 stars.
That is an odd result, and worth stating plainly. On our reference dates the Luxury pick was about €50 cheaper per night than Haus Hainstein, with the same score. Prices in a small sample like this move a lot between dates. What Haus Hainstein offers instead is the hillside setting, the walk to Wartburg and free parking. Compare all three for your own dates before booking.
Why it made our top 3
We compared only 4 eligible hotels in Eisenach, so the choice was narrow. The Best Value slot balances guest score, number of reviews and reference price, and it is not necessarily the cheapest.
Haus Hainstein shared the top score of 8.5 and had a solid review count. Listed facilities include gym, restaurant, free parking, family rooms, free Wi-Fi, garden and terrace. Breakfast is listed as continental and buffet.
Before you book
Check whether breakfast is included and what the cancellation terms are, since neither has been assessed. Ask about restaurant prices if you plan to eat in.
Room size, noise and renovation condition have not been reviewed. Air conditioning is not listed in our data.
If you are travelling with a pet, confirm the policy and any charges with the hotel.
