Yes, for travellers who want a well-run 4-star with a strong breakfast at a mid-range price, especially if Chinatown and the Old Town are on your list. Skip it if you want to walk to the National Monument area, which is far, or if heavy traffic outside would bother you.

This is our Best Value pick for Jakarta. It suits couples, families and business travellers who want reliable service and a good breakfast without paying luxury rates. Guests describe a friendly, professional team that gives helpful, attentive service.
Breakfast is a real draw. Reviewers mention an extensive buffet with a wide range of Western and Indonesian dishes.
Think twice if you hate traffic. Guests say the area near Chinatown and the Old Town suffers from heavy traffic and road construction. Anyone set on walking to the main monuments should also look at the distances below.
Location and getting around
The address is Jl. Gajah Mada No. 211, in the Taman Sari district. The location score is 8.3 out of 10, lower than the overall score, which matches the traffic complaints.
Istiqlal Mosque is about 3.2 km away (around 40 minutes on foot), the National Museum of Indonesia about 3.5 km (around 44 minutes) and the National Monument about 3.6 km (around 45 minutes). All three are far. Plan on public transport or a taxi, and allow extra time for traffic.
These walking times are straight-line estimates and have not been verified. Free parking is listed by the property if you are driving, but check availability for your dates.
What guests say
The score is 9.0 out of 10 from 1,348 reviews. That put it 6th of the 18 eligible hotels we compared on review score, so it competes well in a large field.
Praise focuses on the staff and the breakfast buffet. The main complaint is the surroundings: being near Chinatown and the Old Town is handy, but heavy traffic and road construction make getting around slower.
Price and how it compares with our other picks
Reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 November, 2 adults, one room) were about €56.91 a night. The median of the hotels we compared was €60.00, so this was about 5% below.

You pay roughly twice the Budget price for a higher score and 4 stars instead of 3. The Luxury pick is about double again. These were not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 18 eligible hotels in Jakarta. Best Value weighs guest score, review count and price, and it is not necessarily the cheapest option.
A 9.0 score from more than 1,300 reviews, at a price just under the city median, made this the strongest balance in the sample.
