This is a sensible choice for travellers who plan to be out all day and want the room mainly for sleep. Couples on a tight budget, solo travellers and anyone visiting the central monuments for a short stay will get the most from it.
The property lists family rooms, so families can look at it too. Check the exact room layout before booking, because the room type matters a lot here.
Skip it if a large room is a priority. Some guests say the standard rooms feel tight. If space matters, the price gap to our Best Value pick is worth weighing.
Location and getting around
The address is JL Hayam Wuruk no. 6, in the Gambir area. Three major sights sit within a short walk on a straight-line estimate: Istiqlal Mosque and the National Museum of Indonesia are both about 1.3 km away, roughly 16 minutes on foot, and the National Monument is about 1.4 km, close to 18 minutes.
Real walking routes are usually longer than straight-line figures. If you prefer not to walk, a taxi is the simple option.
Guests describe the setting as central, close to monuments and train stations, with a mall and restaurants downstairs. The location score from guests is 8.4, slightly below the overall score.
What guests say
The overall guest score is 8.6 out of 10 from 1,213 reviews. Two themes come up most often.
First, location: guests like being near the monuments and train stations, and having food and shopping in the same building.
Second, staff: reviewers mention a friendly, helpful team, a warm welcome and quick service.
The main complaint is room size. Many find the rooms spacious and comfortable, but some say the standard units feel tight. Read recent reviews for the specific room type you are considering.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults was €26.76 per night, about €54 for both nights. That is 55% below the sample median of €60.00 per night. These are reference prices, not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
For that money, the property lists a gym, a spa, a restaurant, free parking, family rooms, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a terrace. Breakfast styles listed are halal, Asian, American and buffet, but whether breakfast is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Our Best Value pick, Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada by IHG, scores 9.0 with 4 stars at €56.91 per night. Our Luxury pick, The Orient Jakarta, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, scores 9.3 with 5 stars at €112.89 per night. YELLO costs less than half of the Best Value option.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 18 eligible hotels in Jakarta. On guest score alone, this one sits joint 12th of those 18, so it is not the highest rated.
It earned the Budget slot because it had the lowest eligible reference price after the upscale choice was set aside, while still holding a solid 8.6 from more than a thousand reviews. That mix of low price and a large, positive review base is what the Budget slot is for.
