Holiday Inn Express - Concepcion by IHG

Yes, this is a sound booking for drivers, business travellers and anyone who wants a well-reviewed 4-star base with a pool and gym at a mid-range rate. Skip it if a slow, crowded breakfast room would spoil your morning or if you want the cheapest room in town.

This hotel fits people arriving by car. Guests point to easy highway access, and the property lists free parking. It also suits travellers who want predictable comfort: 4 stars, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a fitness center and a swimming pool.
Shoppers get a practical bonus. Guests say the hotel sits directly opposite a large shopping mall, which helps for quick meals, supplies or a rainy evening.
Who should skip it? Anyone who cares a lot about a calm breakfast. The one recurring complaint is that the dining room is small and crowded, and the buffet is refilled slowly. Travellers on a tight budget may also prefer our Budget pick, which costs about a third less per night.
Location and getting around
The address is Av. San Andres #38, Concepción. The hotel has a location score of 9.3, which is high and matches what guests write about the mall opposite and the quick road links.
We have not verified walking times or distances to specific sights, so we will not quote any. If you plan to explore on foot, check a map from the address before booking and work out how you will reach the places that matter to you. For anything that turns out to be over 30 minutes on foot, plan on a taxi or public transport.
What guests say
The score is 8.9 out of 10 from 2,458 reviews. That is a large sample, and it put the hotel joint first on review score among the 7 properties we compared.
Two themes stand out in the praise. First, location: the mall across the road and the easy highway access. Second, staff, described as friendly, attentive and helpful.
The weak spot is breakfast logistics. The buffet is described as varied, but the room is small and gets crowded, and trays are not always refilled quickly. If you have an early meeting, going down at opening time is a sensible move.
Price and what you get, compared with our other picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 was €86.27 per night for 2 adults, or about €172.54 for both nights. That is above the sample median of €71.94 per night. These are reference prices, not live quotes, so check today's price for your own dates.
For comparison, our Budget pick, Apart Hotel Castellon 176 (3 stars, 8.3), came in at €54.36 per night. Our Luxury pick, Wyndham Concepcion Pettra (5 stars, 8.8), was €126.50. This hotel sits in between on price and beats both on guest score.
Breakfast is listed as a buffet. Whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed, so read the rate details carefully.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 7 eligible hotels in Concepción. This one won the Best Value slot because it balances a top guest score, a big review count and a mid-range reference price. It is not the cheapest option, and it is not meant to be.
In short, you pay about €32 more per night than the Budget pick and get a higher score, a pool, a gym and free parking.
Before you book
Several things have not been assessed: room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms. Check each one on the rate you choose.
The property lists a garden and a terrace as well. Pool and gym opening times and any fees should be confirmed for your dates.
