Hotel Aroi Ponferrada
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
It is worth booking if you want a 4-star in a central, quiet setting for only a few euros more than our Budget pick. Book an upgraded room if space matters, because guests find the standard and economy rooms small.

Hotel Aroi Ponferrada is our Best Value pick for the city. It suits travellers arriving by train, since guests mention the station nearby, and anyone who wants a central base that is also described as quiet. Family rooms, air conditioning and a 24-hour front desk are listed.
Skip the cheaper room types if you travel with lots of luggage or plan to spend time in the room. Guests say standard and economy rooms feel small and tight. If you want a bigger score and can spend about €10 more, look at our Luxury pick.
Location and getting around
The address is Marcelo Macias, 4. Guests rate the location 8.7 out of 10 and describe a central, quiet setting near the castle, the train station and local restaurants.
We do not have measured walking times to the castle or the station. Treat the guest descriptions as a guide and check the routes on a map before you go.
Parking is not listed in our data. If you are driving, ask the hotel about options nearby.
What guests say
The score is 8.3 out of 10 from 1,815 reviews. Guests like the central and quiet location and a friendly, professional team that is quick to fix problems.
Room size is the main complaint. Upgraded rooms are described as spacious, but standard and economy rooms feel small. Pick your room category with that in mind.
Price and how it compares with our other Ponferrada picks
The reference price was €69 a night, €138 for two nights. It is a reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults in one room, not a live quote. The sample median was €77.88, so this sat about 11% below it. Check today's price for your dates.
Hotel Aroi Bierzo Plaza, our Budget pick, was €64 with the same 8.3 score and 3 stars, on the main square but with noise complaints. AC Hotel Ponferrada by Marriott, our Luxury pick, was €79.47 with 8.7 and 4 stars. For €5 more than the Budget pick, this one adds a star and a quieter reputation.
A buffet breakfast is listed. Whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed, and upgraded rooms will cost more than the reference price.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 5 eligible hotels in Ponferrada. This one shared second place on review score and has a large review count. Best Value balances score, reviews and price, so it is a middle option, not the cheapest.
Before you book
Room size has been flagged by guests, so check the square metres of the room type before you book. Noise, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed.
Compare the price of an upgraded room with the AC Hotel, as the gap may be small. Ask about parking if you arrive by car.
