Hotel Austral Bahía Blanca is worth booking if you want a central, simple 3-star room at the lowest price among our three picks in the city. Skip it if spa, pool or a gym matter to you, or if you need lots of detailed guest feedback before you commit.

This is our Budget choice for Bahía Blanca. It suits couples and short-stay travellers who want to sleep in the centre, walk to the cathedral and keep costs down. The property lists family rooms, so a small family could also look at it, but check the exact room set-up before you pay.
People who want hotel extras should skip it. The facility list is short: free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a terrace. No spa, pool, gym or restaurant appears in the data. If those count for you, the other two picks cover them.
Location and getting around
The address is Av. Colón 159. Bahía Blanca Cathedral is about 0.5 km away, roughly 6 minutes on foot. That walking time is a straight-line estimate, so the real route may take a little longer.
Guests rate the location 9.4 out of 10, which is the highest location score in this short list, shared with Land Plaza Hotel. For a city break built around the centre, that is the main strength here.
We have no confirmed data on parking, airport transfers or bus links. If you arrive by car, ask the hotel directly where you can leave it and whether there is a cost.
What guests say
The overall guest score is 8.3 out of 10 from 96 reviews. In a sample of only three eligible hotels, that put it in third place on review score, behind Howard Johnson (8.9) and Land Plaza (8.7).
The data has no summary of specific likes or dislikes for this hotel. That means we cannot tell you how guests rate the beds, the cleaning or the noise. Read the most recent reviews on the booking page, and filter for comments about street noise, since Av. Colón is a central avenue.
Price, and how it compares with our other two picks
The reference price was €75.03 a night, or about €150 for two nights. That figure is a reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults in one room. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
That rate sat 23% below the sample median of €97.34. Howard Johnson Hotel, Spa & Convention Center Bahia Blanca, our Best Value pick, came in at €97.34 a night with a score of 8.9. Land Plaza Hotel, our Luxury pick, was €113.42 a night with 8.7.
So you save about €22 a night against the Best Value option and about €38 against the Luxury one. What you give up is the spa, gym and restaurant those two list, and a few tenths of a point in guest score.
Breakfast is listed as continental and buffet. Whether it is included in the rate has not been confirmed, so check the rate conditions.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 3 eligible hotels in Bahía Blanca. After setting aside the upscale choice, this one had the lowest reference price, which makes it the Budget pick.
It also earns its place on location. A 9.4 location score and a 6-minute walk to the cathedral are hard to beat at this price.
Before you book
Room size, noise levels, the state of the rooms, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Check each of these on the booking page.
Confirm that the terrace is open during your stay and whether the air conditioning works in every room type. Ask about family room layouts if you travel with children.
