Location and getting around
The address is Via Pola 8. Guests say it is a short walk to the historic town centre and local restaurants, and the location sub-score is high at 9.4.
Alba Cathedral is about 0.6 km away, roughly 8 minutes on foot. Grinzane Cavour Castle is about 5.8 km away, around 73 minutes walking. That is far, so plan on a car, taxi or public transport.
Walking times are straight-line estimates and have not been checked on real routes.
What guests say
Guests praise the location and the staff. The team is described as friendly and professional, offering helpful advice and support in several languages.
The atmosphere is generally quiet, but some guests in certain rooms hear noise from the elevator or the air conditioning. If that worries you, ask for a room away from the lift. Room size and renovation condition have not been assessed, and breakfast details are not confirmed in our data.
Price and how it compares with our other Alba picks
The reference price was €363 per night. This is a reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not a live quote. The sample median was €221.28, so Calissano sat well above it.
Our Budget pick, Residence La Quiete, was €68 a night with 3 stars and a score of 8.5. Our Luxury pick, Hotel Giacomo Morra Alba - Handwritten Collection, was €239.55 with 4 stars and a score of 9.2. On those dates, the Luxury pick was about €123 a night cheaper and scored slightly higher. We cannot tell from the data why Calissano was priced this way.
The honest advice: check live prices for all three. If Calissano comes in near or below the Luxury pick, it earns its place. If not, the Luxury pick is the better deal.
Why it made our top 3
We compared six eligible hotels in Alba. The Best Value slot weighs guest score, number of reviews and reference price; it is not simply the cheapest. Calissano shared second place on score among the six and had a very large number of reviews, which pushed it into the slot despite the high price.
Before you book
