This is our Luxury pick in Colima. It suits travellers who want to step out of the door and be in the centre, close to shops, restaurants and the plaza facing the cathedral. Guests also single out the staff for a warm welcome and helpful service.
It is less suited to anyone who needs a big room. Some guests found their units spacious, but others describe cramped rooms with tight bathrooms. Keep in mind that Luxury here means a 4-star hotel, not a 5-star one.
Location and getting around
The address is Portal Medellin No. 12, and guests rate the location 9.4 out of 10. The Cathedral Basilica of Colima is about 0.1 km away, roughly a 1-minute walk.
Other sights are much further. La Campana, the archaeological site, is about 2.7 km away, around 34 minutes on foot. Capacha is about 5.7 km away, around 71 minutes. Both are far, so plan on public transport or a taxi. All walking times are straight-line estimates, so real routes may take longer.
Free parking is listed by the property. Confirm the details if you arrive by car, since conditions can vary.
What guests say
The guest score is 8.8 out of 10 from 531 reviews, joint second of 7 eligible properties in the provider sample.
Location is the clearest strength. Guests mention the central setting near shops and restaurants, with the main plaza opposite the cathedral. The staff come next, described as friendly and helpful. On the downside, room size is inconsistent, and the smaller rooms and bathrooms draw complaints.
Price compared with our other Colima picks
Our figures are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults. They are not live quotes. This hotel was €83.02 per night, about €166 for two nights, exactly at the sample median.
Our Budget pick, Hotel Aldama, was €39.48 per night with a score of 8.4. Our Best Value pick, Concierge Plaza La Villa, was €75.19 per night and scored 9.0. That is worth noting: the Best Value pick was cheaper and rated higher, though it is a 3-star. What you get here is the 4-star category and the location right by the cathedral.
Listed facilities include free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, a fitness center, air conditioning and a terrace. The property also mentions a pool, but it does not appear in every list we hold, so confirm it before you count on it. Breakfast details are not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 7 hotels in Colima. Our Luxury slot favours 5-star hotels, and a 4-star can only take it with a score of at least 8.5. This hotel cleared that bar with 8.8, a strong review count and a top location score.
