Hotel De La Paix

By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.

Book it if location is your priority: it sits in central Lille, a few minutes' walk from the cathedral and the fine arts museum. Skip it if you want hotel facilities or a standout breakfast, since the listed extras are minimal and breakfast reviews are mixed.

Who it suits and who should skip it

Hotel De La Paix is our Best Value pick for Lille. It suits city breakers who want to walk everywhere and spend little time in the hotel. First-time visitors who want the Old Town, shops and the Grand Place on foot are the clearest match.

Families can consider it, as family rooms are listed. Travellers who want a gym, spa or restaurant on site should look elsewhere. The facilities listed are free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour front desk and family rooms, and not much more.

Location and getting around

The address is 46 Bis Rue Pierre Mauroy, in Lille Centre Ville. Guests rate the location 9.7, the strongest number on this page.

Straight-line estimates put Lille Cathedral about 0.5 km away, roughly 6 minutes on foot. The Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille is about 0.7 km, around 9 minutes. Guests also mention the Old Town, shops and the Grand Place within walking distance.

The Lille Métropole Museum of Modern, Contemporary and Outsider Art is a different story. It is about 5.8 km away, around 73 minutes on foot, so it is far and you will need public transport or a taxi.

What guests say

The hotel scores 8.4 out of 10 from 2,265 reviews. That is a big sample, and it placed joint fifth of 11 eligible hotels in our Lille comparison.

Location and staff lead the praise. Guests describe the team as friendly and professional, with a warm welcome and helpful service.

Breakfast divides opinion. The listed types are Continental and Buffet. Some guests find the selection decent, while others say options are limited and quality is average. If breakfast is a paid extra on your rate, weigh it against eating out.

Price and what you get compared with our other picks

Reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults put this hotel at €92.52 a night, above the sample median of €79.17. These are not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.

Here is the honest tradeoff. Our Budget pick, Montempô Appart'hôtel Lille Gares, was cheaper at €63.52 a night and scored slightly higher at 8.6. Our Luxury pick, Hôtel Barrière Lille, a five-star, was €205.40 with 8.7. What you pay extra for at De La Paix, compared with the Budget pick, is mostly the central address and the very high location score.

Why it made our top 3

We compared 11 eligible properties in Lille. The Best Value slot balances guest score, number of reviews and price, and it is not necessarily the cheapest hotel. De La Paix stood out for its review volume, over 2,200, combined with a 9.7 location rating at a mid-range price.

Before you book

Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. A central street address can mean street noise, so ask for a quieter room if that matters to you.

Check whether breakfast is included and what it costs if not. Parking is not listed among the facilities in our data, so confirm options with the hotel if you are driving.
