Yes, book it if you want an affordable 3-star base in central Nice with staff on hand around the clock. Skip it if breakfast matters a lot, as guests find the choice limited and the room small.

Hôtel Helvétique is our Budget pick in Nice. It is a 3-star hotel that suits couples, solo travellers and families on a budget who want to walk to the Old Town and the beach. Family rooms, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and an airport shuttle are listed.
Guests value the 24-hour staff, which helps if you arrive late. If you want a long, relaxed breakfast with lots of choice, though, look elsewhere or plan to eat out.
Location and getting around
The address is 47 Rue de L'Hôtel des Postes, 06000 Nice, with a location score of 9.6/10. Guests describe a central spot near Place Masséna, the beach, the Old Town and tram stops.
Nice Cathedral is 0.5 km, about 6 minutes on foot. Notre-Dame de Nice is 0.6 km, around 8 minutes. The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nice is 1.8 km, roughly 23 minutes. Walking times are straight-line estimates. Details of the airport shuttle, including price and schedule, are not confirmed.
What guests say
The score is 8.1/10 from 2,012 reviews. That is a large sample, but it put the hotel 30th of 39 eligible properties in our sample on score. Expect a solid, good-value stay rather than a standout.
Guests like the location and the staff, a friendly and helpful team available 24 hours a day. Breakfast is the weak point: tasty, according to guests, but with a limited selection and a small dining area.
Price and how it compares with our other two picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 Nov, 2 adults, one room) was about €80 per night, roughly €159 in total. The sample median in Nice was about €118 per night. These are not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Best Value pick, Hotel Aparthotel AMMI Nice Lafayette, is a few doors away on the same street. It is also 3 stars, scored 9.3 and was about €104 per night. Our Luxury pick, Maison Albar - Le Victoria, is 5 stars, scored 9.1 and was about €407 per night. For roughly €24 more per night, the AMMI Lafayette scored much higher, so compare both on your dates.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 39 hotels in Nice. Hôtel Helvétique took the Budget slot because it had the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale choice was set aside. It pairs that price with a strong location score and a large base of reviews.
Before you book
Check whether breakfast is included in your rate; the property lists continental and buffet, but inclusion has not been assessed. Ask about the airport shuttle cost and schedule. Room size, noise and cancellation terms have not been assessed, so read the conditions and recent reviews.
