Hotel Nettuno is our Budget pick in Naples. It is a 1-star hotel, so expect simple rooms rather than extra services. It suits travellers who want a low price, a central address and a clean room for sleeping between days out.
Families may find it useful, since family rooms are listed, and pets are allowed according to the property, with fees not confirmed. Air conditioning and a terrace also appear on the facility list.
If you sleep badly on soft or narrow beds, read recent reviews before booking. That is the main recurring complaint.
Location and getting around
The address is Via Sedile Di Porto 9, in the Naples Historical Centre, with a location score of 9.3/10. Guests mention being near the port, the historic centre and Università metro station.
Teatro di San Carlo is 0.9 km away, about 11 minutes on foot. The National Archaeological Museum is 1.1 km, around 14 minutes. Museo di Capodimonte is 2.6 km, about 33 minutes on foot, which is far; plan on public transport or a taxi for that one. All times are straight-line estimates.
What guests say
The score is 8.1/10 from 939 reviews. That placed the hotel 27th of 36 eligible properties in our sample on score, so it is a good budget result rather than a top-rated stay.
Guests like the location and the cleanliness, describing tidy, modern rooms with daily housekeeping. The beds draw mixed comments: often described as comfortable, though some mattresses are soft or small.
Price and how it compares with our other two picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 Nov, 2 adults, one room) was about €82 per night, roughly €165 in total. The sample median in Naples was about €133 per night, so this is 38% below the median. These are not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Best Value pick, Prêtáloger Verdi 18, was about €142 per night with a 9.3 score. Our Luxury pick, ROMEO Napoli, a 5-star hotel, was about €639 per night with an 8.5 score. Nettuno saves you around €60 a night against the Best Value option, at the cost of a lower score.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 40 hotels in Naples. Hotel Nettuno took the Budget slot because it had the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale choice was set aside. It also brings a strong location score and a breakfast described as continental, Italian and gluten-free, served as a buffet, which is more than many budget places list.
Before you book
Check whether breakfast is included in your rate, since this has not been assessed. Ask about the bed type in your room if mattress comfort matters to you. Confirm the pet policy, terrace access and cancellation terms. Room size and noise have not been assessed, which is worth checking for a central street in the old town.
