Hotel Schloss Wilkinghege
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Worth booking if you want a quiet, characterful stay in a moated park on the edge of Münster and you have a car or do not mind taxis. If you want to walk to the cathedral and old town, a central hotel will suit you better.

Drivers, couples and anyone who wants calm will like it. Guests describe a quiet park setting with a moat, close to the motorway and a golf course. Free parking is listed, which helps if you arrive by car.
Families are catered for with family rooms, and the property also lists a restaurant, a garden, a terrace and free Wi-Fi.
Skip it if you plan to explore Münster on foot. The palace and the cathedral are 40 to 50 minutes away walking. Air conditioning, a spa and a gym do not appear in our data for this hotel.
Location and getting around
The address is Steinfurter Str. 374. The location score is 9 out of 10, which reflects the setting more than closeness to the centre.
Schloss Münster is about 3.3 km away, around 41 minutes on foot. Münster Cathedral and the Westphalian State Museum of Art and Cultural History are both about 3.9 km, around 49 minutes. That is far for daily sightseeing, so plan on public transport, a taxi or your own car.
Walking times are straight-line estimates and have not been verified.
What guests say
The setting is the first thing guests mention: a quiet park with a moat, handy for the motorway and the golf course.
Breakfast also earns praise. Guests describe an extensive buffet with fresh, homemade items, served in a historic vaulted cellar.
Value is the sticking point. Some guests see a high-quality experience, while others find the restaurant and facilities overpriced. Check menu prices if you plan to dine in.
Price and what you get compared with our other Münster picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults in one room, was €198.55 per night, about €397 in total. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
That was 4% below the €205.84 sample median. Our Best Value pick, Stadthotel Münster, was €205.84 with an 8.6 score and 3 stars. Our Budget pick, Johanniter Gästehaus, was €103.45 with an 8.7 score and 3 stars.
Here you pay less than the Best Value pick for a fourth star, the highest score of the three and free parking. The tradeoff is distance from the centre, which is not confirmed for the other two picks either, so compare their addresses on a map.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 11 eligible properties in Münster. With 8.9 out of 10 from 685 reviews, this hotel shared the top review-score position.
Our Luxury category prefers five-star hotels, and a four-star hotel must score at least 8.5 to qualify. This one passes that test.
