What guests say
Two things stand out in guest feedback. The staff and the owners are described as friendly, professional, warm and attentive.
Breakfast is the second highlight. Guests praise a high-quality buffet with a wide variety of fresh breads and cheeses. That is notable, as breakfast is a common weak point in many of our reviews.
Our data shows no recurring guest complaint for this hotel. That does not mean there are none, so read recent reviews for your travel season.
Price and how it compares with our other two picks
The reference price was €361.85 per night, seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, about €723.70 for both nights. It is not a live quote. Check today's price for your dates.
That price matched the sample median of €361.85 per night exactly.
Hotel Saratz Pontresina Mountain Resort & Spa, our Budget pick, was €334.77 per night with an 8.7 score. Grand Hotel Kronenhof, our Luxury pick, was €435.35 per night with a 9.4 score and 5 stars. Walther costs about €27 more per night than Saratz for a score 0.6 points higher, and about €73 less than Kronenhof for a score just 0.1 points lower. That gap is why it is our Best Value choice.
Breakfast is listed as Continental. Whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
Only 3 eligible properties were compared in Pontresina. Our Best Value slot balances guest score, number of reviews and price, and it is not necessarily the cheapest option. Walther ranked second on score with the largest review count and a median price, which made the balance clear.
