Hyde Park Inn
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Hyde Park Inn is worth booking if you want a central CBD base opposite Hyde Park with listed free parking and a very large pool of reviews behind its score. Skip it if breakfast matters, since the in-room continental supplies are often called basic.

This is our Best Value pick for Sydney. It is a 4-star hotel in the Sydney Central Business District with a guest score of 8.2 out of 10 from 5,838 reviews, the largest review base among our three Sydney picks.
It suits travellers who want to walk to shops and central sights, and drivers: the property lists free parking. Guests praise a friendly, courteous team that helps with directions and requests. Family rooms, a restaurant, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning are also listed.
Skip it if a good breakfast is part of your plan. Guests say the in-room continental supplies are convenient but basic, with limited variety.
Location and getting around
The address is 271 Elizabeth Street, and the location score is 9.4. Guests describe a central position opposite Hyde Park and near Museum station, within walking distance of shops.
Sydney Tower is 0.6 km away, about 8 minutes on foot. The Australian Securities Exchange is 0.9 km, about 11 minutes. The Sydney Opera House is 2.2 km, about 28 minutes, a longer walk but still under half an hour. These are straight-line estimates.
What guests say
Location and staff come first in positive reviews. Guests like being across from Hyde Park and near Museum station, and they describe staff as friendly and helpful with directions.
Breakfast is the weak point. The continental supplies in the room are handy, but many guests find them basic and repetitive.
Price and how it compares with our other two picks
The reference price we saw was about €379 per night, roughly €759 for the 2-night reference stay in November 2026 for 2 adults. It is a reference price, not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates. The provider's price data placed it about 23% below the sample median of roughly €301 per night, but the rate we saw for our dates was higher than that, so compare carefully.
Macleay Hotel, our Budget pick, is also 4 stars with an 8.5 score at about €200 per night in Potts Point. Capella Sydney, our Luxury pick, is 5 stars with a 9.7 score at about €867 per night. Hyde Park Inn costs more than the Macleay in our reference stay but puts you in the CBD with free parking listed, while costing well under half the Capella rate.
Breakfast details beyond the in-room continental supplies mentioned by guests are not confirmed. Check what your rate includes.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 13 eligible properties in Sydney. The Best Value slot balances guest score, the number of reviews and the reference price; it is not necessarily the cheapest hotel. Hyde Park Inn sat at joint review-score position 12 of 13, but its 5,838 reviews give the score high confidence and its location score of 9.4 is strong.
Before you book
Confirm that parking is still free and whether spaces must be reserved. Check whether breakfast is included and what it contains. Ask about restaurant opening times.
Room size, noise, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Read recent reviews and the rate conditions before paying, and compare today's price with the Macleay.
