This is our Budget pick for Phuket. It suits backpackers, short stopovers and travellers who want to explore Phuket Town on foot and catch buses or tours from nearby. Family rooms are listed, along with a restaurant, a garden, a terrace and free parking.
Skip it if you need everything to look new. Guests say the low rates suit a budget stay but the property is old and worn. Also skip it if your idea of Phuket is waking up by the sea: this is a town hotel, and our data does not show any beach nearby.
Location and getting around
The address is 2/6 Luangphor Road, Taladyai, Muang, Phuket. Guests rate the location 9.0 out of 10 and say it is close to the Old Town, Bus Terminal 1 and local night markets.
The only sight in our distance data is Wat Chalong, about 7.6 km away, roughly 95 minutes on foot. That is far, so plan on a taxi or other transport. We do not have verified distances to the Old Town streets or the terminal, so check them on a map.
Walking times are straight-line estimates and have not been checked.
What guests say
The score is 8.2 out of 10 from 897 reviews, joint ninth of 16 eligible properties in our sample.
Location and staff come up most in positive reviews. Guests describe a friendly team that helps with bags, books tours and gives local advice.
The common criticism is the age of the building. People feel the price is fair for a budget stay, but the property is old and worn. Room size, noise and renovation condition have not been assessed by us.
Price compared with our other Phuket picks
The reference price was €29.18 a night, about €58 for two nights. This is the reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults in one room, not a live quote. Check today's price for your dates.
The Phuket sample median was €74.64 a night, so La Moon came in about 61% below it. Our Best Value pick, The Memory at On On Hotel, was €75.68 a night with a score of 9.3 and an Old Town address. Our Luxury pick, CRAFT Resort & Villas, Phuket Town - scheduled shuttle to Phuket Old Town, was €102.31 a night with a score of 8.8.
Paying about €46 more per night gets you The Memory's much higher score. If the budget is tight, La Moon keeps you in the same part of town for well under half the price.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 16 eligible hotels in Phuket. After reserving the upscale choice, La Moon At Phuket - SHA Extra Plus had the lowest eligible reference price. A score of 8.2 from almost 900 reviews and a 9.0 location score made it a sound Budget pick.
Before you book
