This is our Best Value pick for Ipswich. It suits couples and families with a car who want a 4-star hotel with a spa, a gym, a restaurant, a garden and free parking listed. Family rooms are listed too.
Skip it if you are arriving by train or want to walk to the town centre, since both sights in our data are far. Also skip it if you dislike paying extra for meals and spa treatments, which guests call expensive.
Location and getting around
The address is Hall Road. The location score is 9.2 out of 10, the highest of our three Ipswich picks, which likely reflects the setting rather than access to the centre.
St Pancras Church, Ipswich and Christchurch Park are each about 7.2 km away, roughly 90 minutes on foot. That is far, so you will need a car, public transport or a taxi. These walking times are straight-line estimates.
What guests say
Milsoms Kesgrave Hall scores 8.5 out of 10 from 788 reviews, joint 3rd of 6 eligible properties.
Guests describe a friendly, helpful and professional team with a warm welcome. Breakfast also gets praise: freshly cooked hot dishes alongside a buffet with quality ingredients.
The main complaint is about extras. Room rates are often seen as fair, but dining and spa services are considered expensive.
Price and how it compares with our other two picks
We saw a reference price of €166.81 per night for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults in one room, about €334 in total, against a sample median of €156.26. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, B&B HOTEL Ipswich, was €133.76 with 8.6, and our Luxury pick, Novotel Ipswich Centre, was €137.44 with 8.6. Both are cheaper, more central and slightly higher rated. What you get here instead is the spa, free parking and a quieter setting, so it only makes sense if those matter to you.
Our data does not list the breakfast styles or confirm whether breakfast is included. Check your rate.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 6 eligible properties. Our Best Value pick balances guest score, number of reviews and reference price, so it is not necessarily the cheapest. Milsoms Kesgrave Hall brings an 8.5 score, a 9.2 location score and the widest set of leisure facilities among our three picks.
In Ipswich our Budget and Luxury picks happened to be cheaper, which makes this an unusual Best Value slot. Be clear on why you want it before you pay more.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Check spa opening times and treatment prices before you go.
