mk hotel passau
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
A sensible booking for most visitors who want an easy walk to the old town at a fair room rate. If you need breakfast and parking, budget for them, because some guests find those extras expensive.

Our Best Value pick in Passau is a four-star hotel with a guest score of 8.7 from 4,433 reviews. It suits couples and solo travellers on a city break, people arriving by train given its Bahnhofstraße address, and anyone bringing a pet, as the data tags it pet-friendly. Listed facilities are free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a terrace.
Skip it if you want lots of on-site facilities: no restaurant, pool or gym is listed. And if your budget is tight once extras are added, compare the total with our Budget pick, which was only €7.50 a night cheaper on room price.
Location and getting around
The address is Bahnhofstraße 24. Guests give the location 9.3 and say the old town, the pedestrian zone and the riverfront are a short walk away.
Our straight-line estimates back that up. St. Stephen's Cathedral, Passau is about 0.9 km away, roughly 11 minutes on foot. Veste Oberhaus and St. Michael's Church, Passau are both about 1.3 km, around 16 minutes each. Keep in mind these are straight-line figures: the real route to Veste Oberhaus may be longer, so check a map before setting out.
What guests say
Location is the most common praise, with the old town and river close by. Breakfast is the second: guests describe an extensive buffet with plenty of choice, including pancakes and dairy alternatives.
The main criticism is about extras. Room rates are seen as fair, but some guests think the breakfast and parking charges are high. Our data does not give the amounts, so ask the hotel or check the booking page.
The 8.7 score placed it joint third of the 4 eligible properties we compared.
Price and how it compares with our other Passau picks
The reference price was €99.50 a night, 15% below the sample median of €116.75. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, Hotel Wilder Mann, was €92 a night with a score of 8.3 and four stars. Our Luxury pick, Passau - Suites, was €210.60 with a 9.8. So for a few euros more than the budget option you get a higher score, while the luxury pick costs about twice as much.
Because guests flag breakfast and parking fees, the gap with the budget option could change once you add those. Compare full totals, not just room rates.
Why it made our top 3
Passau gave us a small field: 4 eligible properties. The Best Value slot weighs guest score, number of reviews and price, so it is not necessarily the cheapest. With 4,433 reviews, an 8.7 score and a below-median price, this hotel fit the slot well.
Before you book
Ask for the breakfast and parking prices and decide whether you need them. If you travel with a pet, confirm the rules and any charge. Room size, noise and cancellation terms have not been assessed, so check those on the booking page.
