QT Newcastle
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
QT Newcastle is worth booking if you want the only five-star hotel in our Newcastle shortlist and a central base on Hunter Street. If price matters, look hard at our Best Value pick first, because it scored slightly higher for only a few euros less per night.

This is our Luxury choice in Newcastle, Australia. It holds an official five-star rating and a guest score of 9.1 out of 10 from 2,235 reviews.
It suits couples and short-break travellers who want to walk to restaurants, shops and the harbour, and who value attentive staff. Families can also look at it, since the property lists family rooms.
Skip it if you are counting every euro. Guests mention that room rates and parking fees feel expensive, and our other two picks cost less.
Location: Hunter Street and getting around
The address is 185 Hunter Street. Location is the strongest point in the data: guests rate it 9.6 out of 10, and the most common praise is that the harbour, beaches, shops and local restaurants are within walking distance.
Our data does not include measured walking times to specific sights for this hotel, so we cannot give you minutes to a named landmark. Before you book, open the address on a map and check the route to the places you actually plan to visit. If anything you need is more than about 30 minutes on foot, plan on public transport or a taxi.
What guests say
Two themes come up again and again. First, the location, which guests describe as walkable to the harbour, the beaches and plenty of places to eat. Second, the staff, described as friendly, professional, helpful and attentive.
The main complaint is value. Some guests feel they got a high-quality stay for the money; others think the room rates and the parking fees are too high.
Breakfast options listed include vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices, plus breakfast to go. Whether breakfast is included in your rate is not confirmed, so check the rate details.
