This is our Budget pick in Trieste. It suits couples and families who want to walk to the main square and the station, and who care more about a clean, well-kept space than hotel extras. Family rooms, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning are listed, and it is tagged as pet-friendly.
Skip it if you want a restaurant, pool or spa on site. None are listed. Breakfast information is also missing from our data. Travellers who dislike self check-in by video should look at our other two picks.
Location and getting around
The address is Via Trento 12, in Trieste Old Town. Guests rate the location 9.5 out of 10 and say the train station, the main square and restaurants are all within walking distance.
Piazza Unità d'Italia is about 0.6 km away, roughly 8 minutes on foot. Trieste Cathedral is about 0.9 km, around 11 minutes. Miramare Castle is about 7.1 km, roughly 89 minutes, which is far, so plan on public transport or a taxi for that trip. Walking times are straight-line estimates and have not been verified.
What guests say
The score is 8.4 out of 10 from 1,823 reviews. Two strengths stand out. The location is described as central and walkable. Cleanliness is the other, with guests calling the apartments consistently tidy, spotless and well maintained.
Check-in divides opinion. Entry works remotely by video. Some guests find that convenient, while others call the instructions confusing and the departure times strict. Read the arrival instructions in advance and ask questions before you travel.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
Reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults in one room, put this property at €80 per night, about €160 for both nights. The sample median was €172.10, so it was 54% below. These are not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates.
Our Best Value pick, Savoia Excelsior Palace Trieste - Starhotels Collezione, is four stars with a 9.2 score at €172.10 per night. The Luxury pick, Greif Hotel & Spa, is five stars with an 8.8 score at €187.60. Paying more than double gets you a full hotel and a higher score. Here you get a clean apartment in an excellent location for much less.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 7 eligible properties in Trieste. After reserving a slot for the upscale choice, this one had the lowest eligible reference price. It ranks 7th of 7 on review score, but an 8.4 from more than 1,800 guests is still solid for the price.
