This is our Luxury pick for Rostock. No five-star hotel qualified, so this four-star property took the slot under our rule that a four-star fallback must score at least 8.5. It suits couples, families and short-break travellers who want to stay near the pedestrian zone and the harbour. Family rooms are listed, and the hotel is tagged as pet-friendly, so check the pet conditions.
Drivers on a tight budget may find the extras add up. If you just want a bed, our Budget pick costs about €40 less per night.
Location and getting around
The hotel is at Lange Str. 40. Location is rated 9.6 out of 10, and guests describe a central setting near the pedestrian zone, shopping streets and the city harbour.
St. Mary's Church is about 0.6 km away, roughly 8 minutes on foot. St. Peter's Church is about 1.2 km, around 15 minutes. Rostock Art Gallery is about 2.9 km, around 36 minutes, which is far on foot, so a taxi or public transport makes sense for that one. These are straight-line estimates.
What guests say
The score is 9.2 out of 10 from 6,388 reviews, a very large sample for a city of this size. Breakfast stands out: guests describe an extensive buffet with a wide variety of fresh and tasty options. Listed breakfast styles are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and buffet.
The central location near the shops and harbour is the other main point of praise.
On the negative side, guests often describe the parking and breakfast fees as high. So the buffet is well liked, but it may cost extra. Check your rate before assuming it is included.
Price and how it compares with our other Rostock picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults was €119.96 per night, about €240 for both nights. The sample median was €111.35, so this is only about €9 a night above a typical hotel. These are reference prices, not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Best Value pick, ScanHotels Stadthafen, was actually more expensive at €135.58 per night, with the same 9.2 score and four stars. Our Budget pick, Prize by Radisson, Rostock City, was €79.40 with three stars and an 8.1. For this trip, the Luxury slot came out cheaper than Best Value, so compare both for your own dates.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 7 eligible hotels in Rostock. This one shared the top review score position, and has an official four-star rating. Listed facilities include a gym, spa, restaurant, family rooms, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a terrace. The high score across more than 6,000 reviews is the strongest argument for it.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Check what your rate includes, especially breakfast. If you drive, ask for the parking price in advance. Confirm spa opening times and whether a fee applies. No pool is listed in our data, so do not count on one.
