By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Book it if you want a clean, modern room in Chapel Hill for far less than the typical local price. Skip it if a pool matters or if surprise parking charges would annoy you, because guests report a daily fee paid through an app.

This is our Budget pick in Chapel Hill. It suits visitors on a tight budget, university visits on a short schedule and pet owners, since pets are listed as accepted.
It is a weaker match for travellers who want a pool or a restaurant, as neither is listed for this hotel. Drivers should also factor in the parking cost that guests mention, which is not included in the room price.
Location and getting around
The hotel is at 1742 Fordham Blvd. in Chapel Hill. Guests give the location 9.1 out of 10.
The only sight in our data is the Dean Smith Center, 4.9 km away, about 61 minutes on foot. That is far, so you will want a car, a taxi or public transport for game days. This walking time is a straight-line estimate, and real routes are usually longer.
Our data gives no walking times to downtown Chapel Hill or the campus from here. Check the route on a map before deciding to go without a car.
What guests say
The average score is 8.5 out of 10 from 549 reviews. That is lower than our other two Chapel Hill picks and placed it joint sixth of 10 eligible properties in our sample, but it rests on a large number of reviews.
Rooms get the strongest praise. Guests describe them as very clean, modern and comfortable. Staff are described as friendly and professional, with a warm welcome and helpful service.
Parking is the sore point. Guests report unexpected daily fees and an app-based payment system. Budget for it, and ask the hotel for the current daily rate before you arrive.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
The reference price was €108.92 per night, about €218 for two nights. It is a reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates. The sample median was €155.12, making this about 30% cheaper than the middle of the market.
The property lists a gym, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Breakfast is listed as continental and buffet, though whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Hampton Inn & Suites Chapel Hill/Durham, our Best Value pick, was €118.59 a night with an 8.8 score and a pool. AC Hotel by Marriott Chapel Hill Downtown, our Luxury pick with 4 stars, was €221.91 with 8.9. Tru saves you about €10 a night over the Hampton, but the Hampton scores higher and lists more facilities, so compare both.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 10 hotels in Chapel Hill. After setting aside the upscale pick, Tru By Hilton had the lowest eligible reference price. Its 8.5 score is solid for that price, and 549 reviews give it weight.
