This is our Budget choice in Varese. It suits drivers, families and business travellers who value a calm setting and on-site facilities more than a central address. Family rooms are listed, and the hotel is tagged as pet friendly.
Skip it if you plan to do most things on foot in the centre. The two main sights in our data are around 21 to 23 minutes away on foot, so you will walk or ride each time you head into town.
Location and getting around
The address is Via Francesco Albani 73. Guests describe a quiet setting surrounded by greenery near the racecourse. The location score is 8.0, the lowest of our three Varese picks.
By our straight-line estimates, the Basilica of San Vittore is about 1.7 km away, roughly 21 minutes on foot, and Palazzo Estense is about 1.8 km, around 23 minutes. These walking times have not been verified, and real routes may be longer.
Parking is not listed in the facility data we hold, so ask the hotel whether it has spaces and what they cost. Public transport options are not confirmed either, so check them for your dates.
What guests say
The score is 8.6 out of 10 from 1,781 reviews. That places it joint 2nd of the 6 eligible hotels we compared, a strong result for a Budget pick.
Staff get warm words. Guests describe a friendly, professional team that gives a good welcome and helpful service. The green, quiet surroundings are the other thing people like.
Breakfast draws mixed comments. The buffet is called abundant, with sweet and savoury options, but guests say the coffee machines are often unreliable. If a good coffee matters to you in the morning, plan for that.
Price and how it compares with our other picks

Our Best Value pick, Hotel Horizon Wellness & Spa Resort - Best Western Signature Collection, scores 8.5 at about €122 per night and adds a spa, but sits further out. Our Luxury pick, Hotel Di Varese, scores 9.2 at about €148 per night and sits a few minutes from the old town. All three are four-star hotels, and the gap between cheapest and dearest is under €40 per night.
Here you get a gym, a restaurant, a pool, family rooms, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a garden, as listed by the property. Opening times and any fees are not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 6 eligible hotels in Varese. This one had the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale slot was reserved, and it still scored 8.6 from more than 1,700 reviews.
Breakfast choices are wide: continental, Italian, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, American, buffet and breakfast to go are all listed. That range is unusual at this price.
