This is our Best Value pick in Coventry. It suits visitors to the University of Warwick, conference guests, and drivers who want green surroundings and a high review score without paying the top rate in town.
It is a weaker fit for travellers without a car who want to walk to the cathedral and the old centre. Light sleepers should also read the noise comments below.
Location and getting around
The address is Scarman Road, Lakeside Village, Scarman House, on the University of Warwick campus. Guests like that it sits near the Arts Centre, with quiet, green surroundings. The location score is 9.4.
Coventry Cathedral is about 5 km away, roughly 63 minutes on foot as a straight-line estimate. That is far, so you will need public transport or a taxi to reach the centre. Bedworth is 12.6 km away. Check routes and journey times for your dates, because we have not verified them.
What guests say
The score is 8.9 out of 10 from 2,378 reviews, joint second of the 8 eligible hotels we looked at. That is a large number of reviews, which makes the score more reliable.
Cleanliness stands out. Guests say bedrooms and bathrooms are kept spotless and tidy.
Noise is the main caveat. The setting is generally peaceful, but thin walls let in sounds from pipes and corridors. Earplugs are a sensible packing item if you sleep lightly.
Price and how it compares with our other picks
The reference price was €151.54 per night, seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults. That is 15% below the sample median of €178.94. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Listed facilities include a gym, a restaurant, free parking, free Wi-Fi, a garden and a terrace. The tags also mention a spa, but details, opening times and any fees are not confirmed. Breakfast information is missing from our data, so check whether your rate includes it.
The Jacobean Hotel, our Budget pick, was €104.92 with a score of 8.0. Hotel Indigo Coventry by IHG, our Luxury pick, was €206.34 with a score of 9.1. Scarman sits in the middle on price and very close to the top on score.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 8 eligible hotels in Coventry. The Best Value slot balances guest score, the number of reviews and the reference price, so it is not necessarily the cheapest.
Scarman combines an 8.9 score, almost 2,400 reviews and a price well under the median. Strong cleanliness feedback and free parking add to the case.
