This is our Budget pick in Schwerin, though it is a 4-star hotel. It suits drivers, business travellers and families who want a calm setting and a reliable chain standard. The property lists family rooms and a gym and is tagged as pet friendly. Guests rate it 8.0 out of 10 from 3,695 reviews.
Skip it if you want to be in the old town. It sits on the outskirts, and the main sights are more than half an hour away on foot.
Location and getting around
The address is Zum Schulacker 1. Guests describe a quiet setting on the outskirts with easy bus access to the centre. The location score is 7.8, the lowest figure on this page, which matches that description.
Straight-line walking estimates: Schwerin Castle is 2.9 km away, about 36 minutes. Staatliches Museum Schwerin is 3.1 km, around 39 minutes, and Schwerin Cathedral is 3.3 km, roughly 41 minutes. All three are far, so plan on public transport or a taxi.
What guests say
Staff get the most praise: guests call the team friendly, attentive and helpful, with a warm welcome. The quiet location with bus access is the other common positive.
Breakfast draws mixed comments. Guests call the buffet rich and fresh, but say the dining area lacks enough seating, so busy mornings may mean a wait. Room size, noise and renovation condition have not been assessed in our data.
Price and what you get, compared with our other two picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults in one room, was €112.40 per night. That is 22% below the sample median of €143.83. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Listed facilities include free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, a fitness center, a garden, a terrace, air conditioning and family rooms. The breakfast list is long: continental, full English or Irish, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, American, buffet and breakfast to go. Whether breakfast is included in your rate has not been confirmed.
Hotel Niederländischer Hof, our Best Value pick, scores 8.8 and was seen at €137.44. Hotel Speicher am Ziegelsee, our Luxury pick, scores 9.0 and was seen at €184.21. All three have 4 stars. The Courtyard is about €25 a night cheaper than the Best Value pick, but scores lower and is further out.
Why it made our top 3
Schwerin had only 4 eligible properties in our sample, so the choice was narrow. This one had the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale choice was set aside. Its 8.0 placed it joint 3rd of 4 on score. The large number of reviews makes that score dependable.
Before you book
Check whether breakfast is included and what the cancellation terms are. If you bring a pet, confirm the conditions and any fee. Parking is not listed in our data, so confirm it with the hotel if you are driving. Look up bus times to the centre for your dates, then compare today's price with Hotel Niederländischer Hof.
