Location and getting around
The address is Alexandrinenstr. 12-13. Guests describe a central setting by the lake, within walking distance of the train station, the castle and the old town. The location score is 9.7, which is very high.
Schwerin Cathedral is about 0.5 km, roughly 6 minutes on foot. Staatliches Museum Schwerin is about 0.9 km, around 11 minutes, and Schwerin Castle about 1.2 km, around 15 minutes. These are straight-line estimates, but all the main sights in the data are within an easy walk.
What guests say
Location and staff are the two clear positives. Guests mention the lakeside setting and how easy it is to reach the station, castle and old town on foot. They also describe the team as friendly, helpful and attentive, with a warm welcome.
The recurring criticism is value for money. Quality is rated well, but rates and extra fees are considered high. Room size, noise, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed, so check those in recent reviews.
Price and how it compares with our other Schwerin picks

So this hotel sits in the middle on price and score, with the strongest location rating of the three on our data. Breakfast is listed as continental and buffet, but inclusion in your rate is not confirmed.
Facilities listed are free Wi-Fi, a terrace and a 24-hour front desk. The hotel is tagged as pet friendly, but rules and fees are not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
Only 4 eligible properties were compared in Schwerin, a small field. Hotel Niederländischer Hof was joint second of 4 on guest score. Our Best Value slot balances score, review count and price, and its 8.8 score, 731 reviews and slightly below-median price gave it the best mix. It is not the cheapest choice.
Before you book
Given the comments on extra fees, check exactly what your rate covers, including breakfast, and ask about any additional charges up front. Read the cancellation terms. Parking is not listed, so if you drive, ask about options and costs. If a lake view matters, ask whether your room type has one, as views are not confirmed.
