Domizil Tübingen is our Luxury pick for the city. It suits couples and leisure travellers who want a central, riverside setting and a good breakfast. Family rooms and a garden are listed, and pets are listed as accepted; check any fee.
Skip it if you expect lots of in-room extras. The most common complaint is that high rates are not matched by in-room amenities. If you mainly need a clean bed close to the old town, our Budget pick costs about €49 less per night.
Location and getting around
The address is Wöhrdstrasse 5-9. Guests describe a central riverside setting a short walk from the Old Town. The location score is 9.6 out of 10.
St. George's Collegiate Church, Tübingen is about 0.3 km away, roughly 4 minutes on foot. Kunsthalle Tübingen is about 2.7 km, around 34 minutes, and Bebenhausen Abbey is about 4.6 km, around 58 minutes. Those two are far, so use public transport or a taxi.
Walking times are straight-line estimates.
What guests say
The score is 8.6 out of 10 from 1,142 reviews. Guests like the location by the river and the breakfast: a fresh buffet with made-to-order eggs, served on a terrace that overlooks the river.
The weak point is value. Some guests feel the room rates are not justified because the rooms lack in-room amenities. Room size, noise and renovation condition have not been assessed.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
We saw a reference price of €215.20 per night, about €430 in total, for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
That matched the sample median. Unusually, it was cheaper than Hotel Krone ****S, our Best Value pick, at about €230 per night with the same 8.6 score. ibis Styles Tuebingen, our Budget pick, was about €166 per night with a score of 8.3. The Krone edges ahead on location score and listed spa facilities; the Domizil offers the river terrace and garden.
Listed facilities include a restaurant, a garden, a terrace, family rooms, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. A spa is not among the confirmed facilities. Breakfast options listed are vegetarian, vegan and buffet; whether breakfast is in your rate is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 3 eligible hotels in Tübingen. The Luxury slot goes to five-star hotels first; a four-star hotel needs a score of at least 8.5. Domizil Tübingen has 4 official stars and an 8.6, sharing the top score in the sample, and a 9.6 location score.
Before you book
Read the room description carefully and check what is in the room, since that is the main complaint. Check whether breakfast is included, because the terrace breakfast is a big part of the appeal. Confirm pet fees and parking options, which are not confirmed in our data. Cancellation terms have not been assessed.
