Hotel Krone ****S
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Book it if location is your top priority: it had the best location score of our three Tübingen picks, plus a spa, a gym and a well-liked breakfast. It was the most expensive of the three in our check, and parking fees draw complaints.

Hotel Krone ****S is our Best Value pick in Tübingen. It suits travellers who want to step straight into the old town, with the river and the train station close by, and who like having a spa and gym on site. Family rooms are listed, and pets are listed as accepted; check any fee.
Skip it if you are watching every euro. In our reference check it cost more than both our Budget and Luxury picks. Drivers should also expect high parking fees, according to guests.
Location and getting around
The address is Uhlandstr. 1. Guests describe a central setting near the Old Town, the Neckar river and the train station. The location score is 9.7 out of 10, the best of our three picks in the city.
St. George's Collegiate Church, Tübingen is about 0.2 km away, roughly 3 minutes on foot. Kunsthalle Tübingen is about 2.7 km, around 34 minutes, and Bebenhausen Abbey is about 4.6 km, around 58 minutes. Both are far, so public transport or a taxi will be needed.
Walking times are straight-line estimates.
What guests say
The score is 8.6 out of 10 from 876 reviews. That is a smaller review base than our other two Tübingen picks, but still a solid sample. Guests praise the location and the breakfast, a large buffet with fresh baked goods, honeycomb and vegan options.
The main criticism is parking. Guests consider room rates fair for the quality, but often call the parking fees high. Room size, noise and renovation condition have not been assessed.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
We saw a reference price of €230.10 per night, about €460 in total, for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
This is the unusual case where the Best Value pick costs more than the Luxury pick. Domizil Tübingen, our Luxury pick, was about €215 per night with the same 8.6 score. ibis Styles Tuebingen, our Budget pick, was about €166 per night with a score of 8.3. The Krone's case rests on its 9.7 location score and its listed spa and gym. Prices move, so compare all three for your dates.
Listed facilities include a gym, a spa and wellness centre, a restaurant, a terrace, family rooms, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast options listed are continental, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, American and buffet. Whether breakfast is included is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 3 eligible hotels in Tübingen. The Best Value slot weighs the guest score, the number of reviews and the price together; it is not necessarily the cheapest hotel. The Krone shared the top review score in the sample and has the best location score, which earned it the slot despite its price.
Before you book
Compare the price with Domizil Tübingen for your dates, since in our check the Luxury pick was cheaper. Check whether breakfast is included. Ask about parking fees in advance. Confirm spa opening times and any extra charge. Cancellation terms have not been assessed.
