Gyeongju SHIHYO Hotel
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Yes, book it if guest score is your main yardstick: at 9.5 it is the highest rated of our three Gyeongju picks, and it adds a spa, a restaurant and free parking. It is not cheap for a 3-star hotel, and most of the big sights are a long walk away, so it suits travellers with a car or a taxi budget.

Families and couples who want a well reviewed base with a few comforts on site will do well here. The property lists family rooms, a spa and wellness center, a restaurant and a terrace, and parking is free, which helps if you are driving around the region.
Look elsewhere if you are on a tight budget. Gyeongju city hotel, our Budget pick, was about half the price with a score of 8.9. Travellers who want to walk everywhere may also find the distances here frustrating.
Location and getting around
You will find the hotel at 24, Taejong-ro 685beon-gil, Gyeongju. Straight-line estimates put Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond about 2.3 km away, roughly 29 minutes on foot. That one is a long but doable walk.
Gyeongju National Museum is about 2.6 km, or 33 minutes, and Gyeongju National Park about 3.5 km, or 44 minutes. Both are over half an hour on foot, so plan on public transport or a taxi for them.
Guests give the location 9.4 out of 10. Walking times have not been verified, so check routes on a map before you rely on them.
What guests say
The score is 9.5 out of 10 from 53 guest reviews, joint first among the 3 eligible properties we compared. That is a strong number, but 53 reviews is a modest sample.
Our data has no summary of specific praise or complaints. Read the latest reviews, looking for comments on room size, noise and the breakfast, before you book.
Price and value next to our other two picks
The reference price was €127.00 per night, about €254 for two nights. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not live quotes. That matched the sample median of €127.00 exactly.
For that you get a 3-star room with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi, plus a spa, a restaurant, a terrace and free parking. The breakfast on offer is Asian, American and buffet; whether it is in your rate is not confirmed.
Gyeongju city hotel, the Budget pick, is 3 stars, scores 8.9 and was €64.76 per night. Lahan Select Gyeongju, the Luxury pick, is 5 stars, scores 8.3 and was €144.86. SHIHYO costs about €18 a night less than Lahan Select and outscores it by more than a point.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 3 eligible hotels in Gyeongju. Our Best Value slot balances guest score, number of reviews and price; it is not about being the cheapest. SHIHYO shared the top score and sat right at the median price, which made it the balanced choice.
