Lahan Select is our Luxury pick in Gyeongju, an officially rated 5-star hotel. It suits couples and families who want a quiet setting, a lakeside walk in the morning and a full set of facilities: gym, pool, restaurant, garden, terrace and family rooms.
With 379 reviews and an average of 8.3 out of 10, its score has plenty of feedback behind it.
Skip it if you want to walk to Gyeongju's main historic sites; they are all about an hour away on foot. Skip it too if surprise charges annoy you. Guests point to high dining prices and an extra fee for the pool.
Location and getting around
The address is 338, Bomun-ro. Guests describe the position as peaceful, with direct access to paved walking paths, and say Bomun Lake borders the grounds with a promenade along the water. The location score is 8.7.
The trade-off is distance. Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond is about 4.8 km away, roughly 60 minutes on foot. Gyeongju National Museum is about 5 km, around 63 minutes. Gyeongju National Park is about 5.3 km, around 66 minutes. All three are far, so plan on public transport or a taxi. These are straight-line estimates.
Free parking is listed, which makes a car a practical option here.
What guests say
The setting wins people over. Reviewers like the calm location and the lake promenade right next to the hotel.
The complaints are about money once you are there. Guests mention high costs for dining and additional charges for facilities such as the pool. Budget for those extras rather than assuming they are included.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
The reference price was €144.86 per night, seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults. The sample median was €127.00. This is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, Gyeongju city hotel, was €64.76 a night with a score of 8.9 and 3 stars. Our Best Value pick, Gyeongju SHIHYO Hotel, was €127 with a score of 9.5 and 3 stars.
Put plainly, both other picks score higher and cost less. What the extra money buys here is the 5-star category, the lakeside grounds and the bigger list of facilities. A buffet breakfast is listed, but whether it is in your rate is not confirmed, and the pool may cost extra.
Why it made our top 3
Only 3 eligible hotels were compared in Gyeongju. Lahan Select ranked third on review score among them.
It took the Luxury slot because our method prioritises official 5-star hotels for that category. It holds 5 stars and a solid 8.3 from a large review base.
