H4 Hotel Residenzschloss Bayreuth

By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.

Yes, book it if you want the best-rated hotel in our Bayreuth sample at a price close to the city median. Drivers with large cars should think twice, because the underground parking is tight and uses a stacker system.

Who it suits and who should skip it

This 4-star hotel is our Luxury pick for Bayreuth. No 5-star hotel made the cut, so we used our rule that a 4-star fallback must score at least 8.5. It scores exactly 8.5. Expect a comfortable, well-reviewed hotel rather than a grand palace stay.

It suits couples and families who want a calm base within walking distance of the old town and a good breakfast. Family rooms and air conditioning are listed. If you plan to drive and park a large car, read the parking notes below first.

Location and getting around

The address is Erlanger Strasse 37. Guests say the city centre, old town and local sights are a short walk away, and the location score is 8.8.

By straight-line estimate, Kunstmuseum Bayreuth is about 0.6 km, around 8 minutes on foot. The Margravial Opera House is about 0.9 km, roughly 11 minutes. The Bayreuth Festspielhaus is further, about 2.2 km or 28 minutes. That walk is doable but long, especially in evening clothes, so you may prefer a taxi on performance nights. These times are estimates, not measured routes.

What guests say

The hotel holds 8.5 out of 10 from 4,023 reviews, the joint top score among the 6 properties we compared. Guests like the short walk into town. Breakfast gets strong praise: an abundant, varied buffet in a bright room with garden views. The breakfast types listed are continental, vegetarian and buffet.

Parking is the recurring complaint. There is an underground car park, but guests describe the spaces as tight and limited, with a stacker system. If you arrive by car, this is the main thing to plan for.

Price and how it compares

Reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults in one room, were €109.00 a night, so about €218 for both nights. That was 2% below the sample median of €111.00. These are not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.

The gap to our other picks is small. Our Budget choice, ibis budget Bayreuth, was €88.20 a night with a score of 8.2. Our Best Value pick, ibis Styles Bayreuth, was €101.25, also rated 8.2. For about €8 more than ibis Styles, this hotel gave the higher score, more stars and a gym. In Bayreuth, the Luxury pick is unusually close in price to the rest.

Listed facilities include free Wi-Fi, a fitness centre and a garden. Whether breakfast is included in your rate is not confirmed.
