Hotel Salus Terme - Adults Only
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Worth it if the wellness centre is the point of your trip and you travel without children. If you mainly want to explore Viterbo's centre on foot, the 33-minute walk and the high price make it a weaker choice.

Couples and adult friends planning a spa-focused break are the clear audience. The hotel is adults only, and guests praise its large wellness centre, relaxation zones, tea corners and massage treatments.
Skip it if you travel with children, since the name states adults only. Skip it too if you want to step out into the old town every evening, because the centre is a long walk away.
Location and getting around
The address is Strada Tuscanese 26/28. On straight-line estimates, Viterbo Cathedral and the Palace of the Popes are both about 2.6 km away, roughly 33 minutes on foot. Villa Lante is 6.7 km, about 84 minutes.
All three are far for walking. Plan on a car, a taxi or public transport. Free parking is listed by the property, which helps if you drive. The location score is 8.7, lower than the overall score.
What guests say
Hotel Salus Terme scores 9.0 out of 10 from 1,923 reviews.
The wellness centre draws the most praise: guests call it large and clean, and mention relaxation zones, tea corners and professional massage treatments.
Staff also get strong comments, described as professional and smiling, with a warm welcome and attentive service throughout.
The buffet is the weak spot. There are plenty of sweet and savoury options, but some guests report slow replenishment and few vegetables.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults was €280.95 per night, about €562 for both nights. The sample median was €154.60, so this is far above a typical Viterbo hotel. These are reference prices, not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates.
The property lists a gym, a spa, a pool, a restaurant, free parking, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a garden and a terrace. Breakfast is listed as Italian, vegetarian, gluten-free, American and buffet. Inclusion in your rate is not confirmed.
Our Budget pick, Balletti Park Hotel, scores 8.1 with 4 stars at €90.60 per night. Our Best Value pick, Best Western Hotel Viterbo, scores 8.8 with 4 stars at €180.60. All three picks share the same star grade, so the extra €100 a night over Best Western pays mainly for the wellness side and a higher guest score.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 7 eligible hotels in Viterbo, and Salus Terme is joint first of those 7 on guest score.
Five-star hotels get priority for our Luxury slot, with a four-star allowed if it scores at least 8.5. With an official 4-star rating and a 9.0 from almost 2,000 reviews, it qualified easily.
