Hotel Stella D'Italia
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
A good booking if you want a cheap, well-placed base near the beach and the train station, with a breakfast guests rate highly. Skip it if you expect modern rooms, since some guests call the facilities dated for the price.

This is our Budget pick for Viareggio. It suits travellers arriving by train, couples on a short break and families watching costs: family rooms are listed. Pets are accepted according to the listing, so check the terms before you bring one.
The facility list is short: a restaurant, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Skip it if you want a pool, a gym or on-site parking. Parking is not listed in our data, so drivers should check options and costs before booking.
Location and getting around
The address is Via Ugo Foscolo 57, in what the listing calls the top-rated area of Viareggio. The location score is 9.3, one of this hotel's strongest numbers.
Guests say the beach, the promenade, shops and the train station are a short walk away. The one sight in our data, Viareggio Synagogue, is about 0.9 km off, roughly 11 minutes on foot. That is a straight-line estimate, so the real route may take a little longer.
What guests say
The score is 8.4 out of 10 from 1,928 reviews, a large base. In the Viareggio sample of 8 eligible hotels it shared fifth place by score, so it is solid rather than outstanding.
Two things win praise. The location, close to beach, promenade and station. And breakfast: guests describe a generous buffet with plenty of sweet and savoury items and fresh coffee. On the downside, some guests find the rate high given that facilities feel dated, while others call it reasonable for a central spot.
Price and how it compares with our other two picks
The reference price was €70.44 per night, seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates. The sample median was €124.70, putting this hotel 44% below the typical rate.
Palace Hotel, our Best Value pick, was €135.40 with an 8.9 score and 4 stars. Hotel Plaza e de Russie - Relais & Châteaux, our Luxury pick, was €239.10 with an 8.3 score and 5 stars. Here you pay about half the Palace rate for a 0.5 point lower score. The listing mentions a continental, Italian and gluten-free buffet breakfast, but whether your rate includes it is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 8 eligible hotels in Viareggio. After reserving the upscale choice, this one had the lowest eligible reference price. Nearly 2,000 reviews averaging 8.4 and a 9.3 location score showed that the low price does not come with a poor position.
