Who it suits and who should skip it

This is our Best Value pick in Bilbao. It suits couples, families and travellers with pets who want the Old Town on the doorstep plus a gym, a restaurant and family rooms. Breakfast is listed as continental, with vegetarian and gluten-free options, which helps anyone with dietary needs.

If you are arriving by car and dislike tight parking, think about it carefully. If you want to sleep next to the Guggenheim, The Artist Grand Hotel of Art is closer. On a tight budget, Hotel Bilbao Plaza costs much less.

Location and getting around

The hotel is at Erribera Kalea 13, in the Old Town. Bilbao Cathedral is about 0.2 km away, roughly 3 minutes on foot. The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is about 1.3 km, roughly 16 minutes. These walking times and distances have not been verified, so check them on a map.

The Vizcaya Bridge is 10.3 km away, about 129 minutes on foot. That is far, so plan on public transport or a taxi. Guests describe the location as central, near the river and walkable to museums, and it scores 9.6.

What guests say

Tayko scores 9.2 out of 10 from 2,611 reviews, joint second of 9 eligible properties in the provider sample. That is a high score backed by a large number of stays.

Two themes dominate. The location wins praise for being central and close to the river and museums. The staff are described as friendly and professional, with a warm welcome and useful local tips. The main complaint is parking: there is a secure garage nearby, but spaces are tight and you need to walk a short way to reach it.

Price and how it compares with our other picks

The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 Nov, 2 adults, one room) was €212.59 a night, about €425 in total. That matches the sample median exactly. These are reference prices, not live quotes; check today's price for your dates.

Hotel Bilbao Plaza, our Budget pick, was €118.15 a night with an 8.5 score and 2 stars. The Artist Grand Hotel of Art, our Luxury pick, was €297 a night with a 9.3 score and 5 stars. Tayko scores almost as well as the luxury option for roughly €84 less per night.

Why it made our top 3

We compared 9 properties in Bilbao. Tayko balances guest score, review volume and reference price better than the rest; it is not the cheapest hotel, but it gives you near-top ratings at a typical city price. That balance is the point of our Best Value slot.

Before you book
