Rail travellers are the obvious match. Guests say the hotel sits directly next to the main train station, with tram links to the centre nearby. Business visitors and anyone on a short stopover will find that practical.
It also holds four stars and lists a gym, a terrace, family rooms, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning, which is more than most budget picks offer.
Skip it if you want to stay among the historic streets. The cathedral is about 23 minutes on foot, so you will be using trams or walking a fair distance each day. Drivers should also note the garage fees.
Location and getting around
The address is Finkengasse 2, in the Gries district. Guests give the location 9.0, mostly because of the station.
Straight-line estimates: Graz Cathedral is about 1.8 km away, roughly 23 minutes on foot. Eggenberg Palace is about 2.1 km, around 26 minutes. Both are walkable if you do not mind a longer stroll.
Mariatrost Basilica is far, about 6.9 km and around 86 minutes on foot. Use public transport or a taxi to get there.
Guests mention trams to the centre close by. Specific lines are not in our data, so check the local timetable.
What guests say
The score is 8.6 out of 10 from 5,978 reviews. In our sample of 7 eligible properties, it sat joint fourth on review score.
Two things come up most: the position right by the main station and the breakfast. Guests describe an extensive buffet with fresh options, served from early morning, which suits anyone catching a train.
The complaint is about value for drivers. Room rates are seen as competitive, but daily fees for the underground garage are considered high.
Price and how it compares with our other Graz picks
The reference price was €78.00 per night, about €156 for two nights. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 November) for 2 adults in one room. They are not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
That was 29% below the sample median of €109.28 per night.
Our Best Value pick, NH Graz City (4 stars, 8.8), came in at €132, and our Luxury pick, Parkhotel Graz - Traditional Luxury (4 stars, 8.9), at €138.50. All three are four-star hotels, so here you save about €54 a night against the Best Value pick and give up a central address in return.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 7 eligible hotels in Graz. This one had the lowest eligible reference price after the upscale choice was reserved, which is how we fill the Budget slot.
Getting four stars, a gym and a well-reviewed breakfast at that price, with nearly six thousand reviews behind the score, made it an easy pick.
