By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Worth booking if you want a central, quiet base a few minutes from Graz Cathedral and the old town at a mid-range price. Skip it if spotless daily housekeeping is a priority, or if you want a spa, because none is listed here.

This is our Best Value pick for Graz. It suits city-break travellers, couples and families who want to walk to the old town and its restaurants, and who value a well-reviewed hotel more than leisure facilities. Family rooms are listed and the hotel is tagged as pet-friendly, though pet terms should be confirmed.
Travellers who want a pool or spa should look at our Luxury pick instead. Guests who are strict about room cleaning should also read the comments below before booking.
Location and getting around
The hotel stands at Karmeliterplatz 4a/4b in the City Center area. Guests rate the location 9.7 out of 10 and describe a quiet setting within walking distance of the old town, restaurants and sights.
Graz Cathedral is about 0.2 km away, roughly 3 minutes on foot. Eggenberg Palace is a different matter: about 3.8 km, around 48 minutes on foot, so it is far and you will need public transport or a taxi. Mariatrost Basilica is about 5.3 km, more than an hour, which also calls for transport. All walking times are straight-line estimates.
What guests say
The score is 8.8 out of 10 from 4,323 reviews, the largest review count among our three Graz picks. Guests praise the quiet location and the staff, who are described as friendly and professional, with a warm welcome and helpful local advice.
The weak point is cleanliness. Rooms are generally tidy, but some guests report missed spots and say housekeeping does not come as often as they expected. Ask about the cleaning schedule if this matters to you.
The breakfast list is long: continental, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, American and buffet. Whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Price and value against our other Graz picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults was €132.00 per night, or €264 for both nights. The sample median was €109.28, so this sits about €23 a night above a typical option. These are reference prices, not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
IntercityHotel Graz, our Budget pick, was €78 per night with four stars and an 8.6. Parkhotel Graz - Traditional Luxury, our Luxury pick, was €138.50 with four stars and an 8.9. That makes the gap to the Luxury option only €6.50 a night, which is worth weighing if a spa, pool and garden would make a difference to your trip.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 7 eligible hotels in Graz. This one shared second place by review score, and our Best Value category balances the score, the number of reviews and the reference price. It is not necessarily the cheapest option. Listed facilities are a gym, family rooms, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Check what your rate includes and how flexible the cancellation is. If you are travelling with a pet, confirm the rules and any charge. Compare the final price with Parkhotel Graz for the same dates, since the two were close in November 2026.
